About Ellen Jaskol

HeadshotUp until early 2009, I was a newspaper photographer for a   gazillion years (okay, about 25 --yikes!). I spent 17 at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, and before that I was at the Los Angeles Times. Since 2009 I've been the main photographer for the new beautiful magazine, Colorado View, and In the summer and fall of 2010, I've been lucky to work with the Central Asia Institute, started by Greg Mortenson, author of the book, Three Cups of Tea, and have spent 6 weeks in Afghanistan and Pakistan photographing schools that they've built.

The newspaper life has prepared me for the variety of photography I can offer my clients: editorial, corporate and personal portraits, architecture, design, business, products, non profits and NGO's, fashion, food, conceptual photos, restaurants, weddings, maternity, seniors, families, children and pets. Lots of photographers specialize in just one thing, but I just can't bring myself to do that. I like shooting it all, so I do.

I love to collaborate with the people I'm working with, and I encourage an environment where all ideas are welcome. It's my goal to make clients happy. I want them to love their photos, and I will keep working until they do.

Some of the state and national photo awards I've won over the past 10 years are listed below, including two Pulitzer Prizes and the Rocky's Photographer of the Year in 2008.

I hope you consider me for your next photography job. Feel free to contact me via email at ejaskol@hotmail.com or call my cell at 303.549.6754.
