Pete Marczyk pours a french rose wine, Chateau Val Joanis AOC Cotes du Luberon, while making dinner at his house. "I like rose for lots of reasons," he writes in an email. "mostly because it is a harbinger of spring.and the warm weather that follows. Roses are incredibly food-friendly; they have crisp acidity and fresh fruit--plus, they are beautiful in the glass. One can easily imagine hanging out in a street-side cafÈ in the south of France eating really good charcuterie and drinking a good dry rose. This is not your father's white zinfandel!"
